SUBWAY LOTL PROMOTION

In cooperation with Prizelogic, an online promotions company, we were tasked with creating an on-cup promotion and an online experience for Subway® Restaurant’s sponsorship of Universal’s new Land of the Lost movie. The challenge was to integrate Subway products and branding throughout the site, because Subway is only featured briefly in the film.

 

Since the movie was a humorous account of ‘the greatest expedition ever known,’ we developed an interactive board game that challenged players to Escape the Land of the Lost and get to the Subway® Restaurant. Playing as a Subway Sandwich Artist, users had to spin their way through the Land of the Lost while avoiding hazards like Sleestaks and a T-Rex, and had three chances to instantly win Subway® Gift Cards and e-Movie tickets along the way.

 

We worked with two Pixar artists to create custom art, and added Flash development to bring key scenes of the film to life as sections of the board game. Exclusive audio clips from the movie were also used to draw attention to Subway products and branding within the landscape.

 

By entering codes found on 32oz cups and in-store displays, players could earn additional chances to win the $1,000 daily sweepstakes, a Southwest Airlines Vacation, or even exclusive memorabilia from the film. Users could also unlock bonus codes to gain advantages in the game by enabling their mobile phone, connecting to Facebook, and following on Twitter.
